700 days of workouts!

So I am nearing the 700 days of 30 minute workouts at the end of this week! I can't believe I have really done this! I have to admit it has been a struggle to keep it up. And of course, an hour a day would be even better. But hey, I'm trying to make a lifestyle change here, and an hour a day, just wouldn't happen. My heart feels healthy and my arms are toned from all the lifting of weights. I run my stairs in my house, and bike too, along with walks indoors or out. Just still wishing the weight would start coming off again. I have plateaued again! Ugh!

I'm back again...

Hi all. Haven't written in a long time, but I have been meeting my goal every single day! I am at 643 days of workouts in a row!! And I will make 2 solid years of walking/working out every single day, rain or shine, holidays or not on July 10 this year 2011. My heart is healthier than it was, but the pounds were still not coming off. After the first 25 were gone, the following year (last year), I started menopause! Ugh! 9 lbs. came back on!! Now a year later, I have taken those 9 off and I'm ready to begin my next and last 25 lbs. lost!! I will not give up. I am quite determined! Anyone out there struggling too? Especially with the onset of menopause? (I know I might need to balance my hormones, but since my mother died of breast cancer, I am too afraid to do that).

Still walking....

Morning all! So after celebrating my year of 30 min. walks, I've moved on to a year 0f 40 min. workouts. They include biking, walking, strength training and more! Mixing it up and it feels wonderful! Although it's a hot one in the suburbs of Chicago today, I just came back from the greatest ride! There was actually a slight breeze! Admired a few peeping cardinals along the way, and made a pit stop at the farmer's market too! Life is good!

I did it! Today is my 365th walk in a row!

One year of 30 minute walks completed! 365 daily walks in a row! Will celebrate with family and friends tomorrow! Whew!
And now, I will continue mixing it up even more! Can I continue 30 minutes every single day forever? Doubtful, but I must try. Let's see how long I can go. Send me your inspirational stories. They really help keeping me motivated!! And thanks for reading!

I'm Soooooo Close to My Goal! Day 362!!

Who the hell knew I could do this! My year of 30 minute walks have taught me a lot about myself. I now know I can make a goal and succeed at doing it. But keeping these walks fresh have been a challenge, which is why I mix it up constantly. I'm upping the incline on the treadmill up and down through much of it. I add arm weights often, and I change the speed throughout each walk. I even jump off twice during the 30 min. and run across the room sideways like the football & basketball players do in their workouts, to get my heart rate up! I feel a little silly doing it, but it gets the heart racing for sure!
All in all, I have to admit that I love my 30 minute walks outside the most. When the weather is just right and the air is crisp and it's quiet enough to hear the birds singing....makes me want to sing along with them! Now if I could only fly!
Okay.....3 more 30 min. walks left to scoring my goal! Yes!

Monday, Monday...

Why is it so hard to face Mondays? Could it be that we have just come back from the most thrill filled weekend and we didn't want it to end? Or is it because with the beginning of a new week, we find ourselves evaluating the endless possibilities this week could hold, and feel uneasy about the prospect of fulfillment of those ideas. What if we fail?
Well, I'm not going to let that notion bother ME! Onward! Another 30 minute walk today. Feeling great......oh the possibilities that lay ahead of me!

I'm Nearly There>Day 351

Oh my this is exciting! I can't believe I'm nearly at my one year goal! Staying motivated is very hard, but the personal achievement award (given to me in my head and my heart) will all be worth it! I've never done anything like this before. It makes me think I can "will" my self to do even more! Hmmmmm, I wonder what I could will myself to do next.
As for the walks, they will continue mixed up with other exercises, i.e., stair climbing, biking, lunges, squats, strength training.
